How to bike in the city (tips for the bicycle curious)

Yep. This is DEFINITELY going to get more people riding bikes instead of driving:

Or then again, maybe not. I ride a bike every day, after watching this video I’m having second thoughts about the whole cycling thing. Riding Driving a car now looks just so much easier…

  1. KarlT says:

I love the smug dismissal of lycra followed by FOR GOD’S SAKE WEAR A HELMET OR YOU’LL DIE YOU BLOODY MANIAC!!!! I’m paraphrasing slightly.

  2. I’ve seen worse, to be fair.

Getting across the message that you can pretty much expect hostility and staggering indifference to your safety from drivers is tricky.

From that comes everything else. You wouldn’t need to claim the lane if you could rely on people passing you safely. The door zone would be less of a worry if they could be arsed to look before leaving their cars, and so on.

(For me, the “Whaaaa” moment is a mudguardless bike with that nice jacket.)
